Six years ago, a growing group of Grid pros in the UK identified a diverse range of data resources (xml collections, relational databases and other structured files) that were not being accommodated for Grid environments. So the OGSA-DAI (Data Access and Integration Services) project was born. Today this project, based at the University of Edinburgh, is increasing the efficiency and reliability with which these data sources are being managed and accessed on the Grid.

In the following podcast interview, Neil Chue Hong, one of the technical project leads for OGSA-DAI, explains the significance of the project and tells GCJ listeners where OGSA-DAI plans to apply the new funding that the project recently secured.
