Globus Consortium Update
Globus Toolkit Enterprise Surveys

Over the next six months (Q3 and Q4, 2005), the Globus Consortium will be conducting a series of surveys that examine the current and future use of the Globus Toolkit in enterprise settings.

Participants in the survey will include:

  • Globus Toolkit enterprise end users
  • Enterprises considering (but not already) using the Globus Toolkit
  • Enterprise vendors currently using the Globus Toolkit as part of their Grid solution

The goal of the study will be to better define common enterprise usage scenarios and requirements (both current and future) of the Globus Toolkit. The Globus Consortium board of directors will use the information from the study to better focus funding on the specific efforts that will best support current and potential enterprise Globus Toolkit end users and the vendors they are working with.

If you would like to participate in these efforts, or have strong feelings about what the future of the Globus Toolkit should look like please contact us at: info@globusconsortium.com.

Bug Fixing Update

Globus Consortium resources have recently resolved GT bugzilla bugs (http://bugzilla.globus.org/globus/) numbers 2968 and 3234. We also used these resources to create some GRAM protocol variation tests that are useful tools for migrating to GT4. Efforts to work on various Execution Management standards are also progressing including recent participation in GGF-14. A great deal of work has also been done on documents for globalization / internationalization coding guidelines for the Globus Toolkit.
